I got this for general hunting use and to do a bit of DIY pest control around the property. I use this to see rats at night. Then I eliminate them. That simple. The pic and video attached show the rat at a distance of about 10 yard or so. The quality of the picture is very good for heat signatures overall. I can detect heat signatures way over a mile away but these will be geographic signatures like hills, large buildings etc. For general animal detection, I would say you could spot the heat signature of an animal around 1k yards easily. However, you would not be able to make out what animal you are looking at is at that distance. I would say around 700 yards or so you should be able to make out the shape of the animal. Regardless, you would need a thermal scope to get a clearer picture.Overall, I really like this monocular. You can see the image on your phone live with a very slight delay so that way you can point the monocular at a certain spot and just look at your phone instead of having to use your hand up to your eye all the time. The battery is very good also. I like that you can record and take pictures as well on it. My only complaint is that the field of view is very small. However, at this price, you won't be able to get better. For a larger field of view, be prepared to spend over $1,500.So, if you are needing to just detect animals at a long distance this will do just fine. The quality is very good.
The picture is where I sat down on a bed in complete darkness and walked down the hall waited a cpl min and then looked back in the room with it. You can see my heat signature on the bed! Amazing. Took like two seconds to figure out how to connect to it w a phone. Excellent product, really happy with it. Had it a few weeks. Have lots of big coyotes in area and one really big one likes my yard so I wanted to see what they are doing and if they are snatching the turkeys that like the yard too.
Super fast shipping. Looked at several reviews and decided to give this product a shot. I’m very pleased with the sensor clarity and refresh rate. I own several thermal scopes and this budget thermal monocular is comparable to my mid range scopes. Will probably buy another to give to my dad when more funds are available.
Very first thermal I bought wanted a good starter can't wait to really use it😊Can use your phone screen as a external screen for the camera 👌
I purchased a TM10 and it works great. I own a TM15 and honestly the difference is not much, but you save a few hundred bucks. TM 10 will take care of much of your needs. The battery will run for a good 8 hours.
This works pretty great for identification out to 100-200 yards. Zoom feature on this model gets pretty blurry at 4-6x. Takes a bit of getting used to in order to be able to walk efficiently with having this mounted to a helmet.
I purchased the OWLSET MCC10 THERMAL for outdoor activities, and I have to say, it has exceeded my expectations. The device is small, lightweight, and simple to operate, making it easy to take with me on hikes, camping trips, and other adventures.
The thermal scope is perfect for medium and short-distance observation, and the imaging is incredibly clear. I was surprised at how comfortable it was to observe through the screen, and the PIP mode was especially helpful in highlighting my target clearly.
Technically it does work as a thermal viewer but the app sucks and the clarity isn’t great for the price. I would either buy a cheaper version or spend $$$ and buy a legit brand. Buy once, cry once

Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase. The mccio handheld thermal is rugged, durable, and provides high-quality performance. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable thermal imaging device.
My hubby bought this and has used it several times now hunting. It's helped him see animals at a distance, even in the dark. Example: sitting in a tree stand and he heard something rustling below. Here it was a mouse. He couldn't see it until he used this tool. He was also able to see 3 deer in the field leading down bedded. Along other things. Definitely a fun tool. He's been very excited about it and seems very happy with it so far.
The sight is very good
It depends on what you want to do with your thermal monocular but it’s not bad for just seeing heat signatures. The picture quality is good at closer distances and just becomes very digital after that. It has zoom but it is basically a bigger picture of a digital image so not clear at all. No optical zoom which makes the picture clear at distances. Again good for seeing that there is a heat signature! If you’re looking for a high quality image at distance, this isn’t it. Look for a monocular with optical zoom.
It works for what it is at this price point. It's got a nice 10mm objective lens so you're catching more of what you're trying to see. Don't expect this to work in high humidity, fog, very dusty areas, or rain.
Works better than expected. Zoom above 2 is useless but overall good. I watched my dog do his thing at 75 yards in dark. I could see him clearly and could see the mess he left!
Love it but I really wish they had image stabilization. The picture is great and clean, and you can see hundreds of yards. I did a video so you can see the clarity and detail
I’m not sure if it was me the camera or I dropped it but after having a little while I couldn’t get it to focus good
I’m using this item as a part of my invention . I hope I can bring it to market soon. The only big thing is that when on or asleep it depletes the power! You will need to get a power pack if you are going to use it for extended time! And the size is a little big but for the price it’s a good value. I’m extremely happy with my purchase. Dwayne L
Save some extra cash and get the TM15-384. A big difference is the screen size. This unit has a relatively small screen. The 384 has a large screen plus better resolution. It's a far better viewing experience with a larger screen.Screen size aside- I've had no problems with this unit. All AGMs are fantastic and I love their color palettes. AGMs are great!
