What kind of zero to use for M855 out of a 16 in barrel to fit the BDC?
When using M855 rounds with a .223 BDC (Bullet Drop Compensating) reticle, the most common zero distances are 50 yards or 100 yards for a 16-inch barrel. Here's a breakdown of both options:50-Yard Zero: This is popular because it provides a flat trajectory out to around 200 yards, which generally aligns well with the ballistic compensations of a .223/5.56 BDC reticle. The 50-yard zero also typically results in a second convergence point near 200 yards, making it versatile for both close and medium ranges.100-Yard Zero: With this zero, the point of impact will be more precise at 100 yards but may diverge slightly at extended ranges compared to the BDC's marks. For M855 out of a 16-inch barrel, this can work but may not match up as precisely with the BDC markers past 200 yards.A 50-yard zero is generally recommended for BDC reticles calibrated for .223, as it provides the best match across typical engagement distances. However, always confirm by testing at each distance on the BDC reticle to see if any slight adjustments are needed based on your specific barrel, optic height, and ammo batch.
What is the plate on top cut for?
Hi, you can remove the top plate to install a red dot sight. Platform on the Top would allow you to attach the red dot sight to the top of the scope, giving you the ability to switch between the prismatic scope and the red dot sight as required. This plate is detachable, so you can easily remove the sight when you don't need it and quickly re-attach it when you do.
Can it handled with 7.62x54r recoil?
Hi, sorry for the late reply. Yes. It can fit for the firearm (BDC Reticle Designed for AR15) .223 5.56mm .308 7.62
