IPSC PCC, MINI RIFLE, SHOTGUN DIVISION Scope Recommendation

December 10, 2024 2 min read

PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine) Division

Typical Distance: 10m to 50m, rarely exceeding 50m.

Optic Recommendation: Red dot sights (combines or not combines magnifier), prism scopes, and LPVOs (combines or not combine red dot).

Mini Rifle Division

Typical Distance:30% of targets are < 25 meters, 50% are between 25-40 meters, 20% are between 40-120 meters.

Optic Recommendation: Red dot sights, LPVOs, or prism scopes.

Shotgun Division

Typical Distance: 3m to 50m, with close-range engagements often using birdshot and longer distances using slugs.

Optic Recommendation: open red dot is preferred for rapid target acquisition.

Why Choose a Red Dot Sight?

Red dot sights are popular because of their large window size, big dot size, durable housing, and the option for solar power. They are easy to use and great for quick target acquisition.

Why Choose a Prism Scope?

Prism scopes, like the Vector Optics SCPS-M01 and SCPS-M10(the latest cigarette case size model), offer a crisp, sharp sight with a center dot. They're ideal for people with astigmatism and provide a reliable etched reticle that works even if the illumination fails. Both models have true 1x power, which is great for fast target acquisition during IPSC competition. The scopes come with a weaver or picatinny quick release mount for easy installation on your gun.
